A common action leads to faster aging

We all know that quality sleep is good for our health, and experts recommend getting seven to nine hours of sleep every night.
It turns out that poor sleep, which is a common occurrence for many people, not only makes you feel tired, but it can also make you age faster.
This was confirmed by a study conducted by the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. More than 27,000 people from the UK aged 40 to 70 took part in the study. Scientists analyzed data from MRI scans of their brains and sleep behavior.
They found that people who had poor sleep had significantly older brains than expected based on their age. This leads to loss of brain tissue, thinning of the cortex, and damage to blood vessels.
Of course, a brain age that is higher than your current age means you are aging rapidly, which can also lead to faster cognitive decline, a higher risk of dementia, and even a higher risk of premature death.
The good news is that you can solve this health problem by changing your sleep habits. Make sure you get seven to nine hours of sleep each night, limit your caffeine and alcohol consumption, and reduce your use of electronic devices before bed.
