A food that shortens our life by 36 minutes every time we eat it

A large research on the harm of foods found that a product belonging to meat products significantly shortens life

It's about hot dogs.

As scientists discovered, every hot dog eaten shortens life by more than half an hour.

More specifically, the new index, which evaluates the nutritional impact of almost 6.000 food items, found that every hot dog a person eats can shorten their lifespan by exactly 36 minutes.

Experts from the University of Michigan explained how this index works: it takes into account all aspects of a food's life cycle, including how it was produced, processed, consumed and stored, as well as how nutritious the product is.

By looking at risk factors like sodium and trans fat in hot dogs and comparing them to benefits like unsaturated fat and fiber, we conclude the 36 minutes of life this food takes away from an individual.

Scientists also found that peanut butter can increase lifespan by 33 minutes. Salmon has also been given the green light for its nutritional value, being credited with extending life by 16 minutes.

As noted in numerous studies, processed meats are often composed of unknown and difficult-to-identify ingredients, including chemicals, dyes, sweeteners, and preservatives.

According to the World Health Organization, the leading causes of death in the world are three preventable conditions. These are heart disease, dementia and cancer, reports CNN. /Telegraph/
