A suspect is arrested in connection with the attack on KFOR members in Zveçan

The Kosovo Police has announced that it has arrested a suspect in connection with the violence caused on May 29, 2023 in Zveçan. 

In the Police announcement, it is stated that he is one of the people who actively used violence in Zveçan.

"Today, on 24.07.2024, after an investigative and operational work by the Kosovo Police teams, the suspect with the initials (DD) was located in the region of Mitrovica South, against whom a criminal complaint was filed in the Special Prosecutor's Office, related to the case of of the attack on international security authorities/forces in Kosovo dated 29.05.2023, identified as one of the persons who actively used violence in Zveçan", says the Police announcement, Telegrafi reports.

According to the announcement, he is suspected of the criminal offenses of "association for anti-constitutional activity, with the aim of attacking the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo", "endangering persons under international protection", "participating in a crowd that commits a criminal offense and hooliganism" and "attack to the official".

All further actions will be taken in cooperation and coordination with the justice bodies.

The police have also attached the photograph of the arrested suspects "attacking with strong means on May 29, 2023".

More than 90 members of the NATO mission in Kosovo were injured at the end of May 2023, when protests by the local Serbian population against Albanian mayors turned into violent clashes. /Telegraph/
