Zuckerberg predicts half of Meta's code will be written by AI by 2026

During a conference for Meta's Artificial Intelligence developers, CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed ambitious plans for using AI in software development.

In a keynote conversation with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Zuckerberg predicted that by next year, Artificial Intelligence could be “responsible for up to 50% of the code written on Meta.”

Nadella said that AI already writes 20–30% of the code at Microsoft, and some projects are entirely generated by AI, reports Telegraph.

Zuckerberg went even further, "drawing" a future where engineers will function as technical leaders managing teams of AI agents.

As further appreciated, the discussion highlighted an ever-growing trend in the tech industry: AI is turning from an auxiliary tool into a major force in code creation.

The two leaders also spoke about the broader impact of AI, from agent systems to global economic impact, reflecting their shared vision for an AI-powered future. /Telegraph/
