Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he had spoken to US President Donald Trump for the second time in two days.

He said they discussed strengthening Ukraine's air defense, resilience, and long-range missile strike capabilities.

"We also discussed many details related to the energy sector. President Trump is well informed about everything that is happening. We agreed to continue our dialogue and our teams are making preparations," Zelensky said.

The Kremlin announced earlier today that Russia is deeply concerned about the possibility of the US providing long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, warning that the war has reached a dramatic moment of escalation on all sides.

Trump said that before agreeing to give the Tomahawk missiles, he would like to know what Ukraine planned to do with them because he did not want to escalate the war.

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine would only use Tomahawks to hit military targets and would not attack civilians in Russia. /Telegraph/
