Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that if his conversation with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin takes place, he will negotiate a complete ceasefire.
"We will do everything to make this meeting happen. If Putin is really ready not only in the media, but also in real life to meet. And then, at the level of leaders, we will do everything to agree on a ceasefire. Because it is with him that I have to negotiate a ceasefire. Because he is the only one who decides on this," the Ukrainian president said.
Zelensky stressed that if during the negotiations, Putin expresses readiness for an unconditional ceasefire, this will pave the way for more detailed talks about ending the war as a whole, the Telegraph reports.
He also expressed hope that his US counterpart Donald Trump would join his talks with Putin.
"We offered President Trump to join. I don't know the decision of the US president, but in any case, if he confirms his participation, this would add additional momentum to bring Putin," Zelensky added. /Telegraph/
