Zelensky calls for stronger pressure on Russia during meeting with US senators

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for increased pressure on Russia during a meeting with US Senators Richard Blumenthal and Sheldon Whitehouse.
The Ukrainian head of state announced this on Facebook, reports Telegraph.
"We see no better means of influencing Moscow than pressure. There is currently an important sanctions act in the Senate and we expect it to work. I also informed them about the ongoing Russian attacks on our people and, in particular, on American businesses. It is absolutely right that Russian money be used to protect ourselves from this terror, and we discussed the prospects of using frozen Russian assets to purchase missiles for Patriot systems," Zelensky said after the meeting.
According to the presidency's website, the head of state and US senators also focused on energy support for Ukraine.

Zelensky thanked the United States for its prompt response to the needs of Ukraine's energy sector.
He noted that a meeting "in the Ramstein energy format" would take place in France this week and that Ukraine has a list of specific equipment needed to restore its energy infrastructure.
He also stressed that before the talks, the senators had met with children that Ukraine had managed to return from Russia.
He added that Russia is holding thousands of abducted Ukrainian children, of whom more than 1,800 have returned home.
Zelensky announced that the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children will hold meetings with partners in Brussels and the United States with the participation of the US First Lady.
Zelensky expressed gratitude for the strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the US Senate and for efforts towards peace.
He also thanked the US President, Congress and the American people for their help. /Telegrafi/
