Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Kiev's allies are interested in a strong Ukrainian army.

Speaking at a news conference in the Ukrainian capital this afternoon, he said he did not know what was discussed in Moscow between American and Russian officials.

"The territorial issue is complicated and should be discussed later," Zelensky said.


Otherwise, military chiefs from around the world will meet next week to discuss the "operational phase" of defending Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping force, writes skynews, according to Telegraph, writes sky news, the Telegraph reports.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosted a virtual meeting of the "coalition of the willing" on Saturday, involving leaders of 26 countries, including Ukraine, plus the EU and NATO, to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

Speaking after the 90-minute meeting, Keir revealed that military chiefs from the group of Western countries will meet on Thursday as they move "into an operational phase".

He said they would draw up plans to help secure Ukraine "on land, at sea and in the sky" if a peace deal with Russia could be reached. /Telegraph/
