Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the "first trilateral meeting" between Ukraine, Russia and the United States is expected to take place tomorrow, marking a significant diplomatic development in efforts for dialogue over the war in Ukraine.

Responding to a question during the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Ukrainian president said that, according to the information he has available, the first meeting between the three parties will take place tomorrow and will continue the following day.

He emphasized that this tripartite format represents a new step in international communication regarding the conflict, although concrete details on the agenda of the talks have not yet been made public.

According to Zelensky, the meeting will be held in the United Arab Emirates. However, he hinted that the initiative for this meeting came unexpectedly from Washington and that the Ukrainian side was not fully involved in its preparation in advance.

"I hope the Emirates know about this. Yes. Sometimes we have such surprises from our American side," the Ukrainian leader said in an ironic tone, suggesting that diplomatic coordination has not been complete.

Otherwise, a direct trilateral meeting between Ukraine, Russia and the US would constitute a rare and potentially decisive moment in efforts to reduce tensions and explore options for a political solution to the conflict that has rocked Europe and the international order. /Telegraph/
