Xherdan Shaqiri warns of leaving Basel and does not rule out a move to the club where he bought shares

Xherdan Shaqiri's future could be far from Basel, with the biggest Kosovar-Swiss star not ruling out the possibility of playing for Rapperswil Jona, the club where he already owns a stake.
During a lengthy interview with "Blick", Shaqiri spoke about his involvement with the Swiss club Rapperswil, which competes in the second division of Swiss football.
"I didn't get involved in Rapperswil without a reason. We have big plans for the club. It's a good step to see different aspects of running a club up close, but it also involves a lot of work. I try to follow every game at home, when possible," Shaqiri declared.
The Kosovar star said he still doesn't know if he will manage a club in the future, but confirmed that he is working to obtain a coaching license. However, he is certain that he will remain part of football even after he ends his playing career.
"Maybe I'll play for Rapperswil myself. That's definitely a possibility. The club will be 100 years old in 2028. Now you know my goal for the future," Shaqiri said, laughing.
Shaqiri also revealed that next summer he plans to travel to the United States of America to watch some of the World Cup matches, possibly even the final. /Telegraph/
