Xabi Alonso among favourites to replace Pep Guardiola at Man City

According to "The Telegraph", Xabi Alonso is expected to be part of a list of three names as a potential candidate to succeed Pep Guardiola at the helm of Manchester City.
There is growing belief within Premier League circles that Guardiola could leave the Etihad at the end of this season, which would mark a full 10 years at the helm of the English champions.
The British media outlet reports that Manchester City have dismissed these reports, describing them as "pure speculation", however, it is said that alternative planning is being developed behind the scenes for every possible scenario.
Xabi Alonso, recently sacked by Real Madrid, is seen as one of the leading candidates due to his tactical profile and experience at the highest level of European football. The Spaniard is praised for his modern approach and ability to build competitive teams in a short time.

Enzo Maresca is also expected to be considered on the list. The Italian coach, who left Chelsea last month, has admitted that he held talks with both Manchester City and Juventus before his dismissal, which keeps his name in the orbit of big clubs.
Another interesting name is Cesc Fabregas. Currently manager of Como, the former Spanish midfielder would only be willing to leave for one of the biggest jobs in English or European football, making him a long-term but ambitious option.
Pep Guardiola's future still remains unclear, but signals from England suggest that Manchester City are already seriously thinking about the era after him.Telegrafi
