Work continues for new Milan sporting director, six names currently on the list

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, while Fabio Paratici remains the favourite, there are six candidates to be Milan's new sporting director.

A decision is not expected until next month, although they cannot delay too long, as whoever is appointed will need to start work on their transfer strategy for the summer soon.

Former Juventus and Tottenham boss Paratici is the most anticipated figure to take the place, especially after a lengthy meeting with director Giorgio Furlani.

Former Lazio player Igli Tare is next, while Atalanta boss Tony D'Amico has been mentioned several times.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport expands the field to a total of six candidates, who are still in the running for Milan, noting that those with Serie A experience already under their belts are more likely to top the list.

Thiago Scuro is currently the general director of AS Monaco and the Brazilian is an outside option.

Eintracht Frankfurt's head of transfers, Markus Krösche, was recently in the headlines for selling Omar Marmoush to Manchester City for €75 million, just 18 months after signing him on a free transfer.

The most surprising candidate is Kim Falkenberg, who is only 36 years old and went from player to director at Bayer Leverkusen with remarkable ease.

He was only recently promoted to sporting director, having been their chief scout. /Telegraph/
