Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, together with Acting Minister of Health Arben Vitia, inaugurated on Tuesday the start of works for the new pharmaceutical warehouse in Kosovo.

This warehouse was said to be modern and according to international standards, which will enable the storage of medicines and their best possible distribution to all hospitals.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the total cost of this project will be 1 million 770 thousand euros.

"Medicines in Kosovo have been kept, I can't say stored, in unsafe, unsuitable and leaky environments. This facility in Fushë Kosovë, near the CEC, will enable medicines to be stored according to high international standards. The space, which can be seen to be under a roof and with walls, but still unregulated from the inside, has an area of over two thousand square meters and an annex of 500 square meters will be added," he said.

Meanwhile, the acting minister, Arben Vitia, said that this project is among the most important for Kosovo's healthcare, as it concerns the storage of medicines - a factor that directly affects the quality of services for patients.

"This project is among the most important for Kosovo's healthcare, as it concerns the storage of medicines - which necessarily affects the quality of services for our patients and citizens. For more than 20 years, medicines have been stored in premises that are not at all suitable for this purpose. The current premises have an area of about one thousand square meters, which is not suitable for storing medicines. This new warehouse will be modern; in addition to technical conditions, various digital systems will also be installed that will enable the best possible management and distribution of medicines in hospitals and municipalities in the country," said Vitia.

The new warehouse will be built in the industrial area in Fushë Kosovë. /Kp/Telegraph/
