Why is Kosovo being supplied with weapons and drones? Security expert reveals the behind-the-scenes story

In an interview this Friday for Euronews Albania during the Balkan Talks show with moderator Franko Egro, renowned security expert Bedri Elezi spoke about the increase in armaments in Kosovo and the importance of this in the face of current security challenges.
Elezi stressed that within the framework of the Security Strategy 2018-2028, concrete steps have been foreseen to equip the Kosovo Army with heavy weaponry. He mentioned the contract with Turkey, which also includes Kamikaze drones, as a key element in this process.
"Within the framework of the 2018-2028 security strategy, several steps were foreseen for heavy equipment for the Kosovo army that had a contract with Turkey, which included Kamikaze drones. In fact, at this time of facing a hybrid war, this situation is also created. In this situation when Kosovo is in a serious state, where we have had arrests for espionage, at this time when Kosovo needs these types of weapons, the security strategy is being implemented, which also includes other means, which are Black Hawk helicopters," said Elezi.
The expert underlines the importance of these measures to face the security challenges that Kosovo is experiencing, emphasizing the need for modern armaments and strategic preparation in the face of hybrid threats.
