What would a 1,000 horsepower Mercedes look like?

Mercedes has officially confirmed that the AMG department is working on the development of an electric super SUV, which is being created in parallel with the electric limousine.

AMG believes this model will be better received by customers compared to previous attempts to switch from V8 engines to four-cylinders.

Fans of the brand still remember the C63 model, which in the last generation became a hybrid with a four-cylinder gasoline engine – which was not received with enthusiasm.

The first prototypes of the new SUV have already been seen and the latest information indicates that it will be based on the Mercedes Vision AMG concept from 2022.

It is also possible that the model will bear a simple name - GT SUV, reports Telegraph.

The Mercedes GT SUV should be more than five meters long, with a wheelbase of more than three meters, which guarantees a spacious interior and luxury at the EQS SUV level.

The vehicle will be based on the AMG.EA platform with 800V technology and engines from the British company Yasa.

This model is expected to set new standards in the class of luxury and extremely fast SUV models, and is rumored to have a power of up to 1000 horsepower.

The premiere is planned for 2026, while the first units on the road can be expected in 2027. /Telegraph/
