What are the chances of Kosovo joining NATO? Ambassador gives details

Albanian Ambassador Gazmend Turdiu, who spoke about the possibilities of Kosovo's membership in NATO, its security and protection from Serbia in the event of an attack.
According to him, Kosovo will not be a member of NATO anytime soon, because despite the determining role that the US has in decision-making within the Atlantic Alliance, the four countries that are part of NATO have not recognized Kosovo's statehood and according to him, based on this analysis, Kosovo will find NATO membership difficult.
"Kosovo is anchored and will remain anchored ultimately with NATO. The fact that there is a strong NATO base there, I do not think is a sufficient reason for normal membership. The US also has a strong base in Qatar, where they also have strategic bombers, but Qatar will never become a member of NATO, these are decisions that are made within the framework of security policies and defense policy on where the troops will be deployed.
I believe that Kosovo is not threatened by an external attack from Serbia, that there is nothing else that is not at risk, because there are NATO troops, there is a defense similar to the defense of all other countries that are formal members of NATO.
Kosovo will have to continue to maintain strong ties with the West, to develop and take care of them, to increase its defense capabilities. Even when Kosovo becomes a full member of NATO, it is not as if Kosovo's military capacity will play a major role, as is Albania's capacity. Albania contributes to NATO with 0,007% of the capacities, it does not make a difference, but it has one vote like other countries. The political aspect is very strong and the confirmation of Kosovo's political will to become a member of NATO is essential in this process.
Kosovo will not be a member of NATO anytime soon, because despite the determining role that the US has in decision-making within the Atlantic Alliance, all decisions are made by consensus, but let's not forget that some countries that are members of NATO have not recognized Kosovo as a state.
It seems impossible to me that countries that have not recognized Kosovo's statehood would vote for Kosovo to join NATO, because NATO includes states, and if you don't recognize it as a state, you can't join, but this does not prevent cooperation.
"Kosovo is militarily protected, currently peacefully, not because external factors are one thing and internal factors are another, if Kosovo is doing its duties, and this is a very serious discussion," the ambassador said.Euronews Albania
