"We have worked in silence", Kurti publishes for the first time the letter in which he had requested the release of Thaçi, Veseli, Krasniqi and Selim

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that there is no legal or moral reason for the detention in The Hague of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
In a reaction on Facebook, Kurti emphasized that he has worked silently on their issue, adding that, according to him, the most effective work is done without noise, Telegrafi reports.
"Immediately after placing fresh flowers at Astrit Dehari's grave, on November 5, 2020, Rexhep Selimi was sent to The Hague prison where he is still being held. In addition to him, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi have been in detention for five years now. Five years of waiting, five years behind bars, while the same reason is repeated in every decision to refuse release: "the risk of influencing witnesses". But the Prosecution has concluded its case. There are no more witnesses. There is neither legal nor moral reason to continue to be held in detention. That is what I have thought from day one. We have worked long and dedicatedly on this issue, in silence, because often good work is done without noise. But sometimes the work that is not seen is not known", declared Kurti.
Kurti says that in 2022 he had requested their release, thus publishing for the first time the letter that Trandafilova had sent him.
"As the Chairman of the VETËVENDOSJE! Movement and as an MP since 2014, together with Rexha, we presented all the arguments and positions to this Court that is judging today. And as Prime Minister, my office and I have requested their release from the beginning. Below I am attaching the letter that was sent directly to Trandafilova regarding this issue in September 2022. I am making it public today for a single reason: because I believe that it is right for them to return to their homes, to be close to their families, and to defend in freedom the just liberation war of Kosovo. Ms. Trandafilova's response two weeks after receiving the letter from me did not change anything. The requests presented were not resolved," Kurti said.
He further added that "Our demands still stand, and in Kosovo there are all guarantees for a positive response to them."/Telegraph/
