"We have never had any hesitation towards President Rugova", Quni talks about the organization of the Battle of Koshare

On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the heroic battle of Koshare, former KLA commander Anton Quni spoke about the organization and challenges that preceded one of the most important confrontations of the war for liberation.

Quni emphasized that, although there were accusations and ideological tensions during the war, the brigade he commanded never wavered in its respect for the authority of the supreme commander, President Ibrahim Rugova.

"Despite the accusations that existed even during the war, when soldiers should be motivated and have trust in each other, we as a brigade have never wavered in the authority of the supreme commander, President Ibrahim Rugova," he stated on Debat Plus.

According to Quni, preparation for the battle has begun with major mobilization and strategic selection of territory.

"We did not have a sufficient number of fighters, so we chose a mountainous territory, where the enemy's technique had no chance of penetrating. In this way, we minimized our disadvantages and created superiority," he said.

He added that the training started from the basics, with clear plans and strict organization.

Regarding the originator of the action, Quni said that it is difficult to link it to just one name, but mentioned the military training center in Papaj, where since September 1998 three units with clear chains of command were deployed.

"One unit was commanded by Commander Rrustem Berisha, while I led the saboteur-observer battalion. Every evening at 20:00 PM we analyzed the day and assigned tasks for the next day," Quni added.
