The leaders of VLEN said today at a press conference that they are the political winners of the elections and that they are the second political force in the country. In the announcement read by Bashkim Bakiu, they demanded that the AKI declare and admit defeat.
"VLEN considers that the elections were fair and democratic. This is a credit to the SEC, but also to the law enforcement agencies, as well as the government composition. This also speaks to the democratic maturity of the citizens. As for the result, VLEN is the winner in the first round in 5 municipalities, and goes to the second round in 6 municipalities. We won convincingly in Chair, Saraj, Zhelinë, Haraçinë and Tearce".
"While in the runoff as winners in Tetovo, Bogovinje, Dibër, Struga, Dolne and Brvenica, we will be in the race as the second. In Gostivar and Vrapçisht, the necessary census has not been reached, while the SEC will be declared for the epilogue in these municipalities. As for the municipality of Čaška, we have not competed in order not to risk the victory of the Albanian candidate."
"Based on the number of municipalities won and the municipalities that go to the second round, we are the political winner of these elections and are the second political entity in the RMV," the VLEN announcement states.
