Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has found himself in the spotlight after cameras filmed his brief conversation with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels last night.

Upon arriving at the meeting, Vučić told her that he had "just received a message from Moscow," to which she replied: "Okay, let's wait and see."

The recording was published by Euronesa journalist Maria Tadeo, reports Telegrafi.

The brief but significant exchange quickly caught the attention of European journalists, especially given the sensitive moment in relations between the European Union and Russia.

Brussels has repeatedly criticized Serbia for inconsistency with EU foreign policy, especially towards Moscow.

It is still unknown what Vučić's message specifically referred to, and neither side has yet officially commented on the incident. /Telegrafi/
