Volkswagen will soon introduce a new GTI, it will have 340 horsepower

The good news is that with electrification, Volkswagen will not retire the famous model.

Specifically, the GTI is returning, but it will be linked to an electric model, reports the Telegraph.

As announced in 2023 when the ID. GTI concept was launched, Volkswagen is preparing a sporty version.

However, instead of the upcoming ID.2 in GTII version, the latest information suggests it is the ID.3.

According to Auto Motor und Sport, the new version will be positioned above the GTX version.

The latter is characterized by a 79 kWh battery, with a 326 horsepower electric motor.

It reaches 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, and the autonomy according to WLTP is 602 kilometers.

According to the same source, the GTI version will be released next year and will not be significantly more powerful than the GTX.

It is assumed that power will be around 340 horsepower, but the chassis will undergo extensive modifications.

This would make the GTI version significantly more agile in handling with driving dynamics worthy of its name.

When it comes to pricing, the ID.3 GTX Performance can serve as a guide with a price tag of 48,725 euros in Germany.

The Golf GTI starts at 45,655 euros, so it can be concluded that the ID.3 GTI will have a price of more than 50,000 euros. /Telegraph/
