Volkswagen's electric models are getting cheaper

Volkswagen has tried to adjust its EV aspirations.

It is partnering with Xpeng and Rivian for better in-car software, while constantly updating its product line.

VW's most anticipated model, the reasonably priced ID.2, is on the way, reports Telegraph.

This model will introduce some major changes that will spread to the rest of Volkswagen's lineup, a report claims.

And it will mark the transportation of the entire line to a new platform.

The platform will be called MEB Plus, an evolutionary name that pushes the standard MEB platform forward.

The biggest change in the MEB Plus versus the MEB is the use of the newer lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery cell platform.

The technology may be slightly lower in energy density compared to the nickel-manganese cobalt (NMC) cells widely used by Western manufacturers currently, but LFP batteries are cheaper. /Telegraph/
