Violence at Saraj school, the Prosecutor's Office initiates proceedings against five minors

The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Skopje submitted a request to the judge for children within the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje to initiate preparatory proceedings for a total of five children in conflict with the law, because they have taken actions that are foreseen as a criminal offense - Violence under Article 386 of the Criminal Code.
These are minors, aged 14 and 15, along with a child who has not yet turned 14 and cannot be held criminally responsible, who, as a group, committed severe violence against two other 14-year-olds.
As stated in the announcement by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the incident occurred on December 12 in the courtyard of the "Dituria" Primary School in Saraj.
The two children – victims of violence – were walking home when they were stopped by the attackers at the exit of the schoolyard.
They began punching and kicking them in the head and body. One of the injured children suffered superficial wounds to the head, while the other child suffered serious bodily injuries – a contusion to the head, a broken nose, and bruises all over his body.
With their violence, the perpetrators caused a sense of insecurity and fear among other children who were leaving school at that moment.
Considering the age of the children in conflict with the law, but also the need to ensure the uninterrupted development of the procedure, the public prosecutor has proposed to the judge to determine precautionary measures - appearance in court, seizure of passports and a ban on approaching and having any kind of contact with the injured children.
