Veliaj's withdrawal from Ristan's dismissal is rumored to be a clash with Rama

Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj has reacted from his cell regarding the rumored clash with Prime Minister Edi Rama, over the issue of delegating competencies in the municipality to Deputy Mayor Sara Goxhaj instead of Anuela Ristani, who was in charge until now.

Through a status on his Facebook page yesterday, Veliaj emphasizes that there is no clash between him and Rama, and that their relationship is focused on cooperation and constructive discussions.

Veliaj explains that the redelegation of leadership competencies from one vice president to another was a misunderstanding, which he had done with the wrong idea, thinking that it had been agreed upon within the leadership team.

"I was informed that there was a fish in the media swamp about my clash with Rama, over delegation work.

First of all, I just long to meet with Rama to talk about business as usual and nothing else comes to mind.

Second, I signed a redelegation with the mistaken idea that it was agreed upon within the management team, but that's what happens when you "work" without sufficient information.

"Lastly, search and dig wherever you want now, because this has become a sport thanks to my beloved prosecutor, but in my relationship with Rama, you are completely useless, because it is molded in old times and no time can change it, no matter how cursed it is. The delegation has returned to where it was and this is where the misunderstanding ends," Veliaj writes.

Today, Erion Veliaj signed from his cell the dismissal of Anuela Ristani from the position of acting mayor of Tirana Municipality, while giving these powers to the deputy mayor Sara Goxhaj.

Anuela Ristani remains the delegated mayor of Tirana, because Veliaj's previous letter canceled Ristani's delegation and appointed Goxhaj.
