Van Dijk revealed the scandal that referee Zwayer did after the Netherlands-England match ended
Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk has revealed what referee Felix Zwayer did immediately after the final whistle.
On Wednesday night, Gareth Southgate's men cruised to victory thanks to Ollie Watkins' 90th-minute goal that sealed England's place in Sunday night's Euro 2024 final against Spain.
Speaking after the final whistle, dejected Netherlands captain Van Dijk spoke of the referee: "Gjqyari went to the dressing room right after the final whistle, that says a lot."
The Dutch were left unhappy after the controversial penalty, as well as his failure to take a corner when a ball was deflected at the end by John Stones.
Van Dijk added: "I have no words. Accepting so late is terrible. This hurts a lot. I have to stay here, but I don't even know what to say. This hurts a lot."
Former Dutch footballer Pierre van Hooijdonk said on NOS: “Felix Zwayer, put him on the blacklist. The penalty in the first half, the many moments in the second half, these moments decided the final result of this game". /Telegraph/
