Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk was wanted by three of Europe's biggest clubs before signing his new deal at Anfield.
Van Dijk has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal with Liverpool, meaning he will continue to add to the 314 appearances he has made for the club.
The 33-year-old followed Mohamed Salah in committing his next two years to coach Arne Slot's project, which is expected to win the Premier League title in his first season.
Slot's compatriot Van Dijk has undoubtedly continued to be important for the Reds since their new manager arrived from AZ Alkmaar, an exceptional leader who Liverpool will continue to build the team around.
And while there is speculation about Ibrahima Konate's future now, his partner Van Dijk is definitely not going anywhere.

The correspondent of TBR Football, Graeme Bailey has provided more information on Van Dijk's deal, as well as naming three clubs that were looking to sign him on a potential free transfer.
"In terms of interest - there was interest from all the big clubs in Europe...Barcelona, Bayern Munich, even Chelsea - none made offers, but they made it clear if he was available this summer, they would be interested," Bailey said. /Telegraph/
