The masks are removed, images show what the electric BMW M3 will look like!

BMW has unveiled a new version of the Vision Driving Experience concept, an evolution of the original Vision Neue Klasse, at the Shanghai Auto Show.

Although it has not been officially named an electric M3, it is clear that this car shows the direction in which the future of electric sports vehicles from the Bavarian manufacturer is heading, reports Telegraph.

This is the first time we can see the car without camouflage. That's why the body is painted with a special luminous paint, which "charges" in daylight and glows in the dark.

There's also a UV-reactive coating for added visual effect, as well as bezels that glow at night, thanks to light-sensitive pigments.

In terms of design, the concept shares many elements with the previous Vision Neue Klasse concept, but now features more aggressive bumpers and active aerodynamics.

Of particular interest are the color-changing discs – they turn green when accelerating, blue when regenerating energy, and orange when braking.

At the heart of the concept is the “Heart of Joy”, an advanced software system that manages driving dynamics, braking, energy recovery and steering.

This system will be implemented in all future electric BMW models from the Neue Klasse series, including those with the M logo.

The biggest surprise was the information regarding torque: an incredible figure of 17,990 Nm!

Although this figure seems unrealistic, BMW announced it with great confidence. Thanks to active aerodynamics, the car generates a downforce of 1.2 tons and a lateral force of up to 3g, which is comparable to Formula 1 cars.

Professional drivers Jens Klingmann and Elias Huntongyi demonstrated the concept's driving capabilities under night lights.

With four engines and a torque distribution system, the car demonstrated impressive maneuverability.

Although the Vision Driving Experience is merely a development concept and is not directly planned for series production, its design and technology will form the basis for future models.

BMW plans to launch more than 40 new and refreshed models by 2027. The first among them will be the all-electric iX3 SUV, which is expected to be produced by the end of this year at the Debrecen plant in neighboring Hungary. /Telegraph/
