Midfielder Medon Berisha suffered a serious injury during the match between Lecce and Pisa.
The Albanian star, who was in extraordinary form in Serie A, left the field in tears, where medical staff had to take him on a stretcher.
According to Italian media, Berisha's injury appears to be very serious, as it is feared that he has torn his adductor muscles.
"The initial impression for Medon Berisha is a tear in the adductor muscles," the Italian media outlet's report states.
If confirmed, Berisha will be out of action for several months and could even jeopardize the 2026 World Cup play-offs.
Berisha was the most in-form midfielder this season, making 12 appearances in the Italian championship, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the process.Telegraph/
