Unblocking the situation in the Assembly, Arben Gashi says he has a different opinion from the party

Democratic League of Kosovo MP Arben Gashi has asked the Vetëvendosje Movement and other parliamentary parties to become more responsible and find a solution to unblock the situation in the Assembly.

Entering the Assembly building for the continuation of the constitutive session on Sunday, he said that the current impasse in the Assembly in the election of legislative bodies is regrettable.

Gashi said that he has a different opinion from the LDK regarding the situation created in the Assembly, but said that he cannot speak on behalf of the party.

"I am part of the party, but I do not speak on behalf of the party and the Parliamentary Group. I am one of those who have a different opinion on this issue," he said.

Asked about the role of President Vjosa Osmani in unblocking the situation, he said that in the current case she has no competence and that it is up to the political parties to find a solution.

The Assembly has failed to constitute the ninth legislature after the February 9 elections in seven attempts in the last two weeks.

LVV's nominee for speaker of parliament, Albulena Haxhiu, has received only 57 votes out of the 61 needed to take this position in four attempts.
