"Unbelievable, this is the second time this week you've said this to me," Kompany gets angry with German journalists

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany held a press conference ahead of his team's upcoming match against Mainz in the 31st round of the Bundesliga.

Bayern are the convincing team in the German championship with eight points more than second-place Bayer Leverkusen and a few days ago coach Xabi Alonso said it was unlikely that his team would surpass the Bavarians at the end of the season.

At the press conference, German journalists stated that this would be the Belgian's first title in his coaching career, which made Kompany a little nervous.

"This is unbelievable, it's the second time this week that someone has told me this would be my first trophy as a manager," Kompany said.

"I've already won it with Burnley. Yes, it was a promotion, but we finished first in the standings, which means we won the trophy. But well, then the parade at Burnley was probably in vain," the Belgian concluded.

As a reminder, Kompany was at Burnley in the 2022/23 season, where he won the Championship and was promoted to the Premier League.

In the Premier League, Burnley finished 19th the following season, but despite this, the Belgian secured a job at Bayern in the summer.
