Ukrainians release footage of battle with Russians that lasted more than two hours – say they 'dealt a powerful blow to the enemy'

A massive attack by a combined group of Russian troops in the Zaporizhzhia sector was overwhelmingly defeated.

This is what Ukrainian media write, according to which this was reported by the 128th separate Transcarpathian mountain assault brigade, reports Telegraph.

According to them, on the evening of April 16, enemy vehicle columns with infantry moved towards Ukrainian positions, in particular, the sector held by the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade.

Their total number was more than three hundred assault vehicles and about 40 units of armored vehicles (BMP, armored personnel carriers, tanks and ATVs).

"The repulsion of the massive attack was an example of effective cooperation between different combat units. Aerial reconnaissance detected the enemy columns in time, so UAV operators began destroying equipment 8 kilometers from our positions," 'Hans', deputy commander of the BBPS battalion, was quoted as saying.

At the same time, the cannon artillery joined in and dealt a powerful blow to the enemy.

"Only a small part of the Russians managed to penetrate the firing range and reach the range of small arms fire. Our infantry pursued these losers with shells, machine guns and assault rifles," the 128th Brigade said in a statement.

As further noted, the battle lasted more than two hours and ended after dark.

It resulted in the destruction of 29 units of Russian armored vehicles and around 140 attack aircraft.

The 128th Brigade reports that it has not lost any positions. /Telegraph/
