US opens investigation into 150,000 Stellantis vehicles for power loss

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said Monday it has opened a preliminary evaluation on about 150,000 Stellantis vehicles.

As it is known, the investigation has been opened on the reports about the loss of driving power that is causing "the engine to shut down", write the foreign media, Telegraph reports.

NHTSA reportedly received 80 such consumer complaints affecting the 2022 RAM 1500 pickup trucks and 2022 Jeep Wagoneer SUVs.

Complaints stated that a vehicle's engine would shut off, often while traveling at slow speeds.

It would go into park mode and apply the emergency brake, the complaints said, adding that a malfunction warning light with a battery failure symbol would appear on the "display."

The preliminary assessment will assess the scope, frequency, cause and potential consequences of the problem. /Telegraph/
