US withdraws troops from Syria – footage of military withdrawal released

A recently released video shows the moments when US forces officially begin withdrawing from Syrian territory, marking a new phase in the US military presence in the Middle East.

The decision is part of a broader strategy of reviewing military commitments abroad and focusing on new national security priorities.

According to official sources, the United States will close three military bases in northeastern Syria, a region where the US has been present for years, mainly in support of Kurdish forces and to fight the remnants of the ISIS terrorist organization.

In this first phase of the withdrawal, the number of US troops will be reduced from 2000 to 1400, leaving a significant gap in the balance of power in the region.

US authorities have announced that a reassessment of the situation will be made after 60 days to determine next steps.

In this context, military commanders have recommended to the White House that a minimum of 500 troops be maintained on the ground, in order to guarantee a strategic presence and prevent the growth of the influence of other actors such as Iran, Russia and ISIS itself.

This development has raised concerns both within the US and among regional allies, who fear that a hasty withdrawal could further destabilize the situation in Syria, creating a dangerous vacuum for the reactivation of extremist groups or the escalation of ethnic and geopolitical conflicts.

However, the US administration has stated that it will continue to closely monitor developments and will take swift action if regional security or that of the troops remaining on the ground is compromised. /Telegraph/
