UBT is ranked among the best institutions in the world by UI GreenMetric World University Ranking, one of the most prestigious global assessments for university sustainability and green campuses. UBT is the first institution in the region to successfully position itself in this important international ranking.
Out of over 1,800 participating institutions from around the world, UBT is ranked in the top 50% of institutions, confirming its commitment to creating green, sustainable and innovative campuses.
In particular, in the innovative campuses category, among over 500 institutions included globally, UBT ranked 169th, demonstrating the institution's continued commitment to international standards and environmental innovation.
GreenMetric UI uses a methodology that assesses 39 indicators in six key areas: environment and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water, transport, and education and research.
This year's results position UBT as one of the most advanced institutions in the region for campus sustainability and innovative management policies. This achievement places UBT in a unique position on the international academic map and represents an extraordinary success for the institution and higher education in Kosovo.
It proves that institutions in Kosovo can compete successfully on the global stage, exceeding international standards in sustainability, innovation and responsible development. UBT has been part of this prestigious ranking in 2023 and 2024, demonstrating a continued commitment to environmental sustainability and climate change.
