Two people have been arrested in North Mitrovica for aggravated theft.

According to the Kosovo Police, on 10.01.2026 at around 15:30, information was received that unknown persons had broken into a religious building on "Qeta e Minatorëve" street in North Mitrovica and stolen a sum of money worth 125 euros.


"Today, on 11.01.2026, thanks to the cooperation with citizens and the operational-investigative actions of the police units within the Mitrovica North Police Station, two people were arrested as suspects in connection with the case. The arrest was carried out on "Kral Petri" Street, in North Mitrovica," the Police statement said.

The suspects were interviewed and by decision of the prosecutor, a detention measure of 48 hours was imposed for MS, born in 2007, and 24 hours for DR, born in 2008.

"The two arrested persons are citizens of the Republic of Serbia, residing in North Mitrovica," the announcement states.
