The Basic Court of Pristina has extended the detention of Fatmir Sheholli, arrested for espionage, for another two months.

The news was confirmed to Telegrafi by Mirlinda Gashi, spokesperson for the Basic Court of Pristina.

"We inform you that following the request of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo for the extension of the detention measure in the criminal case against the defendant F.SH. due to the well-founded suspicion that he has committed the criminal offense of Espionage continuously, the pre-trial judge, after reviewing the request, on 09.01.2026 through a Decision, approved the request of the SPRK, so that the detention measure for the same has been extended for a period of 2 months," Gashi told Telegrafi.com.

Otherwise, Fatmir Sheholli was arrested on October 09, 2025. He is suspected of having acted on the instructions of a senior Serbian BIA official, Bojan Dimić, by collecting and distributing information about properties, business activities, and the functioning of institutions in Kosovo.

The Special Prosecution's file states that Sheholli was recruited by the BIA and provided ongoing assistance to this foreign service, obtaining information that he then distributed to online media in Kosovo. He had been under investigation since August 2024 and was also under physical surveillance.

During the Kosovo Police raids on October 9, 2025, a number of electronic devices, documentation and other items were seized from Sheholli's apartment. /Telegraph/
