Two internationally wanted Albanians arrested in Germany and the UK

The Albanian Police has continued to cooperate with international partners to locate and detain wanted citizens. Specialized structures and Interpol Tirana made it possible to capture two people in Germany and the United Kingdom.

21-year-old Danjel Lalaj, born in Puka, was arrested in Germany, and had been wanted by the Criminal Court since 2021. He is accused of the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics", committed as part of a structured criminal group.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old Bekim Çelaj, born in Tropoja, was arrested in the United Kingdom. He was wanted by Albanian authorities for "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Unlicensed possession of weapons and ammunition", for which the Court had set the security measure "Arrest in prison" since 2022.


Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with counterparts to finalize the procedures for the extradition of two citizens to Albania.
