A convict is transferred from the Czech Republic to Kosovo, while a suspect is extradited from Germany

The Kosovo Police, namely the Directorate for International Police Cooperation, in coordination and cooperation with other relevant units of the Kosovo Police and justice institutions, has successfully carried out the transfer of a convict and the extradition of a suspect from the Czech Republic and Germany to Kosovo.
According to the announcement, on January 1, 2026, a Kosovo citizen convicted in the Czech Republic for the criminal offense of "attempted murder" was transferred. After the transfer, he was handed over to the Kosovo Correctional Service to serve the remainder of his sentence, having served part of his sentence in the aforementioned country.
"While on 14.01.2026, the Kosovo citizen was extradited from Germany to Kosovo, as he was wanted by an international arrest warrant issued by the Kosovo justice institutions, for involvement in the criminal offenses of possession and control of a weapon, bodily harm and intimidation. The extradition was carried out thanks to the cooperation between the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and the German state, where the suspect, after extradition, was handed over to the relevant police units for continuation of other legal procedures," the announcement states.
Finally, it is stated that the Directorate for International Police Cooperation will continue to exchange information with local institutions, states and international organizations, with the aim of preventing, investigating and detecting criminal activities related to the investigation of perpetrators of criminal offenses, as well as other activities in the tracking, capture and arrest of persons and criminal groups operating within and outside the country.
