Two blocs within LDK, new division or inevitable political confrontation?

Analysts have commented on the LDK Assembly, saying that the weakness stems from the electoral defeat, not from the internal process.
Political analyst Ylli Hoxha stated on the show Debate Plus on RTV Dukagjini that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) is weaker not because of the party assembly, but as a result of the December 28 election results.
According to him, the LDK's main problem is related to the election defeat and not to the way the Assembly is organized.
Hoxha assessed that Lumir Abdixhiku's re-election as head of the LDK did not come about because he was necessarily the best option, but due to the lack of other alternatives within the party.
"LDK is weaker not because of the Assembly, but because of the results of the December 28 elections," said Hoxha, adding that the Assembly remains one of the strongest points of this party.
According to him, LDK is the only political entity in Kosovo that has managed to face leadership challenges through votes several times, without divisions and internal clashes.
"There is a weakness and the Assembly is a strong part of the LDK, because it is the only entity that has managed to face such leadership challenges several times and address this issue with a vote," Hoxha emphasized.
He added that he does not see the LDK Assembly as a weakness, but as an opportunity for a new beginning, a resumption or continuation of work.
Along the same lines, analyst Kastriot Jahaj stated that the LDK Assembly has been called to account and that the vote of confidence for Lumir Abdixhiku was carried out in a democratic manner, through secret voting, which gave the delegates complete freedom to decide.
He emphasized that issues related to the organization of the Assembly were addressed by LDK officials themselves, while he was more impressed by the reaction, or lack of reaction, of several senior party figures, in particular Avdullah Hoti, who had announced his candidacy for president.
Unlike Hoxha and Jahaj, analyst Sadri Ramabaja assessed that the Assembly represents more of a kind of consolation for the LDK, while the December 28 defeat was a deep shock for this party.
"December 28 is the deep shock that then produced all these others," declared Ramabaja.
According to him, the Assembly has proven that the LDK is in a deep crisis, which is no longer just an identity crisis, but has also taken on a structural and organizational character. He added that two powerful political blocs have crystallized within the LDK: the bloc of the "old", which according to him has tended to cooperate with the PDK, and the bloc of the "young", who are committed to a clearer political position "as-as". /Telegrafi/
