Turkish defense firm Roketsan on Wednesday unveiled its new high-velocity and multifunctional Eren munition for the first time at the World Defense Show (WDS) 2026 in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

Turkey's leading manufacturer of ammunition, missiles and missile systems participated in the exhibition from February 8 to 12 with a wide product portfolio.


And developed from concept to operational product in less than a year, the new domestic Eren ammunition was tested on the Bayraktar Akinci multi-role unmanned combat aircraft, the company said, foreign media write, reports Telegraph.

As stated further, the high-velocity ammunition, which is expected to enter mass production this year, is designed to meet the operational needs of the Turkish Armed Forces and Turkey's friendly and allied countries.

Eren can be launched from unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, helicopters, ground vehicles, land systems, and naval platforms.

It is capable of hitting low-speed air targets, as well as armored and unarmored ground targets.

The munition features advanced guidance capabilities and has a range exceeding 100 kilometers, according to Roketsan.

Ikinci said that the artificial intelligence algorithms and advanced flight control sensors integrated into the munition, combined with its turbojet engine, open the door to a new operational segment. /Telegrafi/
