Tuchel makes one mandatory change to England's squad

Thomas Tuchel has been forced to make a last-minute change to England's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia.

Tuchel announced the list of 26 invited players on Friday morning, where he made some selections that surprised fans.

The German coach had decided to extend the invitation to Ajax captain Jordan Henderson and Marcus Rashford.

However, he has now been forced to make an unplanned change to his team and the player he has invited will undoubtedly delight the Three Lions fans.

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer was forced to withdraw from the squad after undergoing medical tests due to a muscle injury.

His replacement will be Morgan Gibbs-White who has been shining this season with Nottingham Forest and many fans believed he should have received the call-up from the start.

"Morgan Gibbs-White has been added to the England squad. The Nottingham Forest midfielder will now report to St George's Park alongside the rest of the 'Three Lions' for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia," England said in a statement.Telegraph/
