Donald Trump puts Marco Rubio in an uncomfortable position by reading his note aloud during the oil giants' meeting with the US president.

US Secretary of State Rubio handed US President Trump a confidential note during a meeting with oil industry representatives.

But the American leader suddenly began reading it aloud to everyone present.

"Go back to Chevron. They want to discuss something," the Secretary had written to the president.

Chevron is one of three oil companies expected to be involved in the sale of Venezuelan oil.

As the 79-year-old read the note in front of everyone, Rubio looked visibly embarrassed, while Trump, on the other hand, seemed pleased - even patting him on the shoulder.

Otherwise, oil companies did not promise to invest $100 billion in Venezuela, as Trump had stated. /Telegraph/
