US President Donald Trump has signed the Gaza peace plan initially in Sharm el-Sheikh.

"Can we have the documents, please?" and a green folder is placed in front of the US president.

As he did so, he said: "It took 3,000 years, can you believe it? And it will stand," the Telegraph reports.

The plan is then signed by Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"This is a remarkable day for the world," Trump said.

He stressed that the deal is so big that it will avoid a Third World War - which, he says, could have happened in the Middle East.

As the other leaders present sign the document, the other attendees applaud.

Trump thanked them once again for the support shown during the ceasefire negotiations.

"Everyone is happy," he says, saying he has done "big deals before" but "this has taken off like a spaceship." /Telegraph/
