Donald Trump says he will speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday as he seeks to end the war in Ukraine.
The US leader revealed this to reporters while flying from Florida to Washington on Air Force One, they write. foreign media, the Telegraph reports.
"We'll see if we have something to announce maybe by Tuesday. I'll be talking to President Putin on Tuesday," Trump was quoted as saying.
"A lot of work was done over the weekend. We want to see if we can end that war."
Although Russia failed in its original goal of "overthrowing" Ukraine with its invasion three years ago, it still controls large areas of the country.
And Trump has said that land and power plants are part of the conversation about ending the war.
