Trump on Greenland's Prime Minister: I don't know who he is, but he's in trouble

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, commented on the statements of the Prime Minister of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, and used another occasion to belittle politicians from the other side.
In fact, Nielsen had previously stated that Greenland, if it had to choose between Denmark and the US, would always choose Denmark.
"We are now facing a geopolitical crisis, and if we have to choose between the United States and Denmark here and now, then we choose Denmark. We choose Greenland as we know it today, which is part of the Kingdom of Denmark," Nielsen said at a joint press conference with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen.
"That's their problem." Trump on Greenland's desire to stay with Denmark
Donald Trump reacted harshly to Greenland's prime minister saying the island chooses Denmark over the United States.

His statement caused displeasure with the American president.
"That's their problem. I don't agree with him. I don't know who he is. I don't know anything about him, but this is going to be a big problem for him," he said.
While the Arctic island of 57 people has long discussed independence from Denmark, opinion polls show that most Greenlanders are against the idea of joining the US.
This concern was also reflected in the elections in March last year, when three out of four Greenlandic voters supported parties that favored only a slow path to independence.
The foreign ministers of Greenland and Denmark will meet in Washington on Wednesday (January 14) with US Vice President JD Vance and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, following new threats to seize control of Greenland. /Telegraph/
