The country's President, Vjosa Osmani, said today that she feels deeply honored by President Donald Trump's personal invitation to represent the Republic of Kosovo on the Peace Board, as a founding member, side by side with the United States in the mission for a safer world.

Osmani, in a Facebook post, published President Donald Trump's letter regarding the celebration of Kosovo being on the Peace Board, as a founding member.

"I am deeply honored by President Trump's personal invitation to represent the Republic of Kosovo on the Peace Board, as a founding member, side by side with the United States in the mission for a safer world.

Courageous leadership doesn't just talk about peace, it builds it. That's exactly what President Trump is doing through this historic initiative.

"Just as America brought peace to Kosovo, today Kosovo stands as its steadfast ally to advance peace. History remembers those who take bold steps in peacebuilding - and we are ready," Osmani writes.

But what is the Peace Board?

The administration of US President Donald Trump has contacted various figures around the world to join the so-called "Peace Board" and related entities, which aim to oversee governance and reconstruction in post-war Gaza.

The White House said there would be a main board, chaired by Trump himself, a Palestinian committee of technocrats who aim to govern the war-torn territory, and a second "executive board" that appears to be designed to have a more advisory role. /Telegraph/
