US President Donald Trump again said Iran wants to reach a nuclear deal, while warning that "they would be fools if they didn't."

"As you know, we currently have a large fleet heading towards Iran. We'll see what happens. I think they want to make a deal. They would be foolish not to," the US leader told Fox Business.

"We destroyed their nuclear power last time and we'll see if we destroy more this time," the 79-year-old added, before reiterating that Iran wants to make a deal - but that it has to be a "good deal".

"No nuclear weapons, no missiles, no this, no that, all the different things you want," Trump continued, writing cnn.

The president last week said the US had had "very good talks" with Iran, after delegations from both countries participated in indirect discussions in Oman on Friday.

Trump will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Wednesday, and Israeli sources told CNN that Netanyahu intends to present him with new information on Iranian military capabilities. /Telegraph/
