The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during a press conference this Thursday, commented on former US President Donald Trump's decision to impose 10 percent tariffs on Albania.
Berisha stated that if the Democratic Party comes to power after May 11, its government will immediately begin negotiations with the US to reach an agreement on this issue.
"The DP government, after May 11, will conduct open and transparent negotiations with the US government on tariffs. I am optimistic, as it has been noted that lower tariffs have been applied to Albania and Kosovo compared to other countries," Berisha said.
He also stressed that tariffs are a global issue and cannot be addressed unilaterally. “The issue of tariffs cannot be addressed unilaterally, as the impact on production is huge,” he added.
Berisha stated that the DP's economic strategy will focus on strengthening domestic production, emphasizing that "Made in Albania" will be a top priority for the country's economy.
"After May 11, we will start negotiations on the removal of tariffs. Negotiations, negotiations, negotiations," the DP leader concluded. /Telegrafi/
