Tripartite military alliance, MFA reacts: Kosovo is not afraid of Serbia's threats

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo has strongly condemned Serbia's latest statement regarding the trilateral memorandum signed between Kosovo, Croatia and Albania.

According to the MFA, this statement is not only aggressive and threatening, but also a clear violation of the Brussels Agreements.

Serbia, although it has claimed to accept these agreements, has refused to sign them, proving once again its lack of will to engage in dialogue.

"By making such statements, Serbia undermines its commitments to building good neighborly relations with Kosovo and recognizing its institutions. Its rhetoric contains hegemonic tones, as it tries to present itself as the dominant power in the Western Balkans, demanding explanations from two sovereign states, members of NATO and the EU. This behavior is unacceptable and violates the Brussels Agreement," the MFA's response states.

It is further emphasized that Serbia's attempt to present itself as a "guarantor of peace in the Balkans" is absurd, considering its history of destabilizing the region.

From the wars of the 1990s to threats and military buildup near Kosovo's borders, Serbia continues to be a source of regional insecurity.

The MFA also criticizes Serbia's claims of neutrality, calling them hypocritical, as Belgrade has deep ties with authoritarian regimes such as Russia and Iran.

"While the democratic world stands united against aggression, Serbia continues to align itself with countries working against stability in Europe," the statement said.

According to the MFA, Serbia must stop aggressive rhetoric and respect the agreements reached, giving up hegemonic ambitions and taking responsibility for past crimes.

“Serbia must open its classified wartime archives to shed light on the crimes committed, especially by the 38th Motorized Brigade of the Yugoslav Army in Kosovo. Without justice for the victims, there can be no true peace.”

"The Republic of Kosovo remains committed to strengthening its security and international partnerships with its allies," the response states. /Telegrafi/
