The Rinas Border Police Services in Albania have prevented a case of undeclared cash during regular checks at the border crossing point.

According to the announcement, during an in-depth check at the second line, 240,000 euros were found on citizen GS, 36 years old, resident of Kruja, which he was attempting to bring into the Republic of Albania without declaring, in violation of the law.


The collected materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings have been initiated against the 36-year-old man.

"As a result of detailed checks at the entrance/exit of the country, with modern, detection equipment, risk analysis, in-depth interviewing, detailed verifications of travel documents, with the objective of preventing and ascertaining illegalities at the border, the Rinas Border Police services have detected another case of non-declaration at the border crossing point, of considerable amounts of money. In this case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated in the free state for citizen GS, 36 years old, resident of Krujë, who, during the second-line check, was found to have 240,000 euros that he intended to bring into the Republic of Albania, without declaring them in accordance with the law," the State Police announces.

The Border Police announces that the use of modern equipment, risk analysis, in-depth interviews and verification of travel documents are part of the strategy for preventing and detecting illegality at the border. /Telegraph/
